Terry and Michele Wright present at 34th Annual NACFC
Terry and Michele Wright joined moderators Susanne Muenzel, LCSW and Christopher F. Drescher, PhD. during the 34th Annual North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference (NACFC), for the session “S07: Culturally Competent CF Care” on Wednesday, October 21, 2020.
This session covered several, often under-represented, cultural factors that can affect CF patients, their families, and their care. The topics included issues related to LGBTQ patients, racial/ethnic minority patients, patients with low socioeconomic status, and practical recommendations for incorporating culturally competent care.
As Dr. Drescher shared,
I want to thank you both [Terry and Michele Wright] personally for your participation at the 2020 NACFC symposium on culturally competent CF care. Your video story was inspiring to attendees and your co-presenters and provides hope for African American CF patients and CF patients in general. I look forward to the important work that NOAACF will do for years to come.
