The CF Roundtable is excited to announce that the 2020 Jacoby Angel Award winner is Terry Wright.
For the past 20 years the CF Roundtable has presented the Jacoby Angel Award to a person with cystic fibrosis who is making a difference in the lives of one or more people with or without CF. Terry is the 8th person to receive the award.
The award is named in memory of Dr. Jack Jacoby who was a CF physician at the St. Vincent’s CF Center in New York City for over 15 years. Dr. Jacoby had CF and used his own experience living with the disease to provide exceptional medical care to his patients. He was the medical advisor for USACFA and wrote a medical column for CF Roundtable for many years.
Terry Wright has followed in the footsteps of Dr. Jacoby by spending his life helping others. After his CF diagnosis Terry co-founded the National Organization for African Americans with CF to raise awareness of CF in the community. Terry’s efforts have led to African Americans being diagnosed with CF after being misdiagnosed. Terry has shown the true meaning of the word courage as he shares his life story with thousands of people in his efforts to help others.
